Glycyrrhiza glabra
The Licorice plant is a shrub, native to parts of Europe and Asia. It has been extensively used in Ayurvedic tradition and is the most widely used herb in China. It contains glycyrrhizin, sugar, starch, protein, fat, resin, and asparagin.
½-1 teaspoon of root or powder as an infusion or decoction. Can be taken up to 3 times a day. Not for prolonged use or in high doses. Not recommended for those with heart or blood pressure conditions.
