What is Calcium?
Calcium is an essential mineral required by our bodies to maintain good health. Our bodies cannot make calcium, therefore it must be obtained from our food or supplementation. The average person has about 2.5 pounds of calcium in their body with 99 percent of it being stored in our bones and teeth.

Chemical reactions in the body are sensitive to even slight shifts in pH. For example, our blood requires a pH level of 7.3 -7.5; even a slight lowering of pH from these levels would cause our body to release calcium from the bones to help make the blood pH balance.
North Americans tend to eat foods that make their bodies more acidic, such as meats, fried foods and sugars. Stress can also make one`s body more acidic.
