Unfortunately many doctors and women believe that breast cancer cannot be prevented, especially due to predispositions, The truth is that breast cancer can be negated with natural solutions. One of those methods is very safe and simple. Dr. Jeffrey Dach has grabbed several international clinical, lab, and case study reports that demonstrate the efficacy of iodine ingestion for breast cancer
Many of us have been told by our doctors to avoid salt, manily because they say it causes high blood pressure. Because of this advice, dietary intake of iodized salt has decreased to low levels, and we have a generalized iodine deficiency in the population. Of course, salt intake from processed foods is quite high in the North American diet, yet none of this added salt contains iodine.
Most doctors believe that iodine is only used by the thyroid. The cells lining the milk ducts of the breast contain special iodine pumps that concentrate iodine in the breast, indicating that proper daily amounts of iodine are vital to breast health.
Currently 15% of the US adult female population is classified by the World Health Organization (WHO) as iodine deficient. We consume a large quantity of salt in processed food, however, the salt in processed foods is not iodized salt. Unfortunately iodized table salt is not a reliable way to supplement with Iodine, It makes sense to use an Iodine supplement.
Iodine’s RDA (Recommended Dietary Allowance) is 150 mcg (micrograms) per day. Dr. Guy Abraham insists we should be taking in 12.5 mg (milligrams) of elemental iodine daily. This is 100 times greater than the RDA.
It is also the estimated iodine per individual intake from seaweed and seafood among Japan's population. Japan has the lowest rates of thyroid, prostate, and breast cancer.
The FDA recommends 165 mcg of iodine supplementation to prevent thyroid cancer in the event of a radiation emergency, and iodine has been used medicinally with even higher doses in the past. Dr David Brownstein MD recommends taking at least 12.5mg per day in the Lugol's form of Iodine to maintain healthy breasts, uterus and thyroid.
There has been an upsurge of thyroid nodule detection in mainstream medicine, leading to partial or complete removal of thyroid glands to determine whether the nodules are cancerous. Even if no cancer is detected, the person is sentenced to a lifetime of synthetic prescription thyroid hormones. Iodine supplementation can prevent that unhealthy scenario according to Dr Brownstein M.D.
How Safe is Iodine Supplementation?
Very safe. Iodine is the only trace element that can be ingested safely in amounts up to 100,000 times the RDA. For example, potassium iodide has been prescribed safely to large numbers pulmonary (COPD) patients in amounts of up to 6 grams per day for several years. This potassium iodide is a well known treatment for COPD which helps mobilize lung secretions.
The FDA has officially stated that Iodine supplementation is safe and actually recommends 165 mg of Iodine for adults in case of Radiation Emergency to protect the population from thyroid cancer. “Iodine allergy” is a misnomer since this name applies to allergy to iodinated radiographic contrast agents, and not to elemental iodine which is quite different. Elemental Iodine is an essential mineral and required for health. Deficiency of Iodine in the developing embryo causes cretinism and deficiency in the developing child causes goiter.
Iodine has been determined to actually alter breast cancer associated gene expressions. It turns off cancer promoting genes and turns on genes that promote cancer cell apoptosis or cellular suicide. If you want scientific evidence for that, here it is.
Dr. Guy Abraham developed a product called Iodoral, which is a pill form of Lugol's iodine Solution. The cancer industry’s willful denial of iodine for breast cancer is not because it’s ineffective and dangerous; it’s because supplemental iodine can’t be patented.
Dr. Dach lists many international in vivo studies using rats, epidemiological human surveys, and in vitro (petri dish) lab studies demonstrating the efficacy and safety of ingesting elemental iodine for cancerous tumors.
Dr. Jeffrey Dach’s data is featured here with case studies.
Iodine Deficiency causes Fibrocystic Breast Disease
Iodine, a well known topical antiseptic and antimicrobial agent, also directly kills cancer cells and serves as the key player in our body’s surveillance system for removing abnormal pre-cancer cells. There is considerable medical research to support this statement.
A study published in 1993 in the Canadian Journal of Surgery found that iodine relieved the signs and symptoms of fibrocystic breast disease in 70 percent of women sufferers. This was a double-blind, placebo-controlled study involving over 600 women.
Dr. B.A. Eskin published 80 papers over 30 years researching iodine and breast cancer, and he reports that iodine deficiency causes breast cancer and thyroid cancer in humans and animals. Iodine deficiency is also known to cause a pre-cancerous condition called fibrocystic breast disease. Ghent published a paper in 1993 which showed iodine supplementation works quite well to reverse and resolve fibrocystic changes of the breast.
Despite its obvious potential, not much has been done with Iodine treatment over the past 40 years. Since iodine isn't patentable and is therefore unlikely to be profitable to market, there is no money to fund studies for “FDA approval". However, FDA approval is not required since Iodine is already an additive to table salt at the supermarket.
