Co-administration of NEURAPAS balance may reduce the efficacy of coumarin-type drugs that inhibit blood clotting (phenprocoumon, warfarin), digoxin, theophylline, and some antidepressants. Patients taking NEURAPAS balance together with medicinal products that contain any of these drugs should seek advice from their treating doctor. Intense exposure to UV light (extensive sunbathing, sunlamp or solarium use) should be avoided during NEURAPAS balance use.

Consult with health care practitioner before use if pregnant or breastfeeding.
Interactions with other drugs:
Use of high-dose St John`s Wort extract has, in isolated instances, been associated with interactions with the following drugs, which may lead to reduced therapeutic efficacy : Coumarin-type drugs that inhibit blood clotting (e.g., phenprocoumon, warfarin), cyclosporin, digoxin, indinavir, amitriptyline, nortriptyline, oral contraceptives ("the pill"; risk of intermenstrual bleeding/spotting), theophylline. The photosensitizing effect of other drugs may be increased. Concurrent administration of certain antidepressants (nefazodone, paroxetine, sertraline) may increase undesirable effects (such as nausea, vomiting, anxiety, restlessness, confusion).
Side effects
No adverse reactions to NEURAPAS balance have been reported over the past three decades.

Use of high-dose St John`s Wort extract may, especially in fair-skinned individuals, lead to increased sensitivity to sunlight (photosensitization) and therefore produce sunburn-like reactions of skin areas exposed to intense sunlight. There have been rare reports of gastrointestinal symptoms, allergic reactions, fatigue or restlessness.
