Lactase is the enzyme necessary for digesting the sugar, lactose, from dairy products. Deficiency in lactase enzyme is common worldwide. It has been estimated that 70 to 90 percent of Asian, African American, American Indian and Mediterranean adults lack this enzyme. Symptoms range from minor abdominal discomfort and bloating to severe diarrhea in response to even small amounts of lactose. Lactase Enzyme allows people with lactase deficiency to eat or drink dairy foods without experiencing the symptoms of lactose intolerance.

Recommended Adult Dosage
1-2 capsules just before consuming any food containing lactose, or as directed by a health care practitioner. Lactase must be taken each time you consume a lactose containing food, as the enzyme will only work on the food just consumed. Lactase has no lasting effect beyond the meal with which they are taken. Depending on the amount of lactose in the food you eat, or for severe lactose intolerance, you may need to adjust the dosage to 2 capsules, but no more than 2. Keep out of the reach of children.
