Trophic 5-HTP. 5-HTP (5-Hydroxytryptophan) is an amino acid and is related to both L-tryptophan and serotonin.
In the body L-tryptophan is converted to 5-HTP, which can then be converted to serotonin. 5-HTP readily crosses the blood-brain barrier and increases central nervous system (CNS) synthesis of serotonin.
Trophic’s 5-HTP is derived from the seeds of a West African legume called Griffonia simplicifolia.
